Winning medals at international level!
Cilantro Culinary Academy proudly announce that our student’s achievement in winning medals for the international culinary and pastry competitions.
22nd Thailand’s International Culinary Cup (TICC) 2016
The TICC was held at BITEC Bangna Bangkok from 7 – 10 September. Ms. Chin Liuh Tyng who participated in the “Seafood Free Style Cooking Contest: Individual (Junior)” category, won Gold medal while Silver medallist goes to Mr. Tinesh A/L Maniam. For the “East Meet West Free Style Cooking Contest: Team of 3 (Junior)” category, students Ms. Chin Liuh Tyng, Mr. Tinesh A/L Maniam, and Mr. Tai Wann Sheng won Bronze medal. Lastly, Ms. Ng Yong Qi won Diploma in “Meat Free Style Cooking Contest: Individual (Junior)”.
Ms Chin said that a lot of hardship and effort were required, she had to master and control the cooking temperature and time taken to cook the dish during the competition. She mentioned that being on this path was not as easy as it seems, hard work and a never give up spirit is the most important key to success! Mr Tinesh loves challenges and this is what keeps his inner fire burning brightly. He said the pressure was there when the clock started ticking during the contest, every second was a race against time but as long as you follow your dream and keep the fire within you burning and you will achieve your dream in no time!
Battle of the Chef 2016
Cilantro Culinary Academy is proud to shout out that 3 Golds, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze and 1 Diploma won by our students during the Battle of the Chef 2016 which was held in Penang recently. Students participated in both the Culinary and Pastry categories were filled with passion and they strived and worked very hard for their success.
In the pastry category students - Ms. Tee Jia Wen, Ms. Koh Huey En, and Ms. Ong Ai Vun who took part in the “Confectionary” category, ALL won Gold medals. In culinary, student participated in “Main Course IV – Norwegian Seafood” category, and Silver medal was won by Ms Chong Mui Khiun. Mr. Toh Chok Sen who entered the “Main Course II – (Beef)” category won a Bronze medal. The Diploma award was won by Ms. Chiew Hui Kei who took part in the “Main Course V – Norwegian Salmon”.
With Ms. Ong’s masterpiece which is Ma Maison, she keeps on practicing as she believes practice makes perfect and if you think you can do it, you can! In order to succeed, one needs a few elements in achieving the goal. Elements such as 99% hard work and 1% luck are required no matter what you do as mentioned by Ms. Koh.
